God

Our problem is - we pray for things but don't recognize the answer when it comes. God has a purpose in all things, He also has a process. As you get to know Him better you begin to recognize both. Here's how it works: you ask God for strength and He allows you to go through times of testing. You ask for wisdom and you get to deal with problems that require solutions. You ask for success and He gives you the ability to work - not necessarily harder, but smarter. You ask for favor and He gives you responsibility. Salvation is a gift, but patience is a reward for overcoming. So stay where God has you today and learn the lessons He wants to teach you; tomorrow you'll be glad you did!

Power of Attitude

Power of Attitude

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but by how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes creating extraordinary results.

The Poem

THE POEM
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God! Held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said'
Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time'

Eyes

Do you know the relationship between your two eyes?
They blink together, they move together,
they cry together,
they see things together and
they sleep together,
EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER SEE EACH OTHER...
Friendship should be just like that!!!

Inspiration/Motivation

We need to learn to thank the Lord for closed doors just as much as wedo for open doors. The reason God closes doors is because He has notprepared anything over there for us.

If he didn't close the wrong door we would never find our way to theright door. Even when we don't realize it, God directs our paths throughthe closing and opening of doors. When one door closes, it forces us tochange our course. Another door closes; it forces us to change ourcourse yet again.

Then finally, we find the open door and walk right into our blessing. But instead of praising God for the closed door (which kept us out oftrouble), we get upset because we "judge by the appearances." And in ourown arrogance, or ignorance, we insist that we know what is right.

We have a very present help in the time of need who is always standingguard. Because He walks ahead of us, He can see trouble down the roadand HE sets up road blocks and detours accordingly. But through our lackof wisdom we try to tear down the roadblocks or push aside the detoursigns. Then the minute we get into trouble, we start crying "Lord howcould this happen to me?" We have got to realize that the closed door was a blessing. Didn't He say that "No good thing will Hewithhold from them that love Him?"

If you get terminated from your job - don't be down, instead thank Godfor the new opportunities that will manifest themselves - it might be abetter job, or an opportunity to go to school. If that man or womanwon't return your call - it might not be them, it might be the Lordsetting up a roadblock (just let it go).

One time a person had a bank he had been doing business with for manyyears tell him "NO" for a $10,000 loan. The Lord led him to call anotherbank. That bank approved a $40,000 loan for him at a lower interest ratethan his own bank had advertised.

I'm so grateful, for the many times God has closed doors to me, just toopen them in the most unexpected places. "The steps of a good man areordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way." (Psalms 37:23) TheMountain top is glorious, but it is in the Valley that I will grow!

Always Remember God gives you...
Enough Happiness to keep you Sweet
Enough Trials to keep you Strong
Enough Sorrows to keep you Human
Enough Hope to keep you Happy
Enough Failure to keep you Humble
Enough Success to keep you Eager
Enough Friends to give you Comfort
Enough Wealth to meet your Needs
Enough Enthusiasm to make you look forward
Enough Faith to banish depression, and
Enough Determination to make each day a better day than the last.

Life must be lived forward but can only be understood backwards. Committo the Lord in whatever you do and your plans will succeed. (Proverbs16:3)

Excerpt from a Purpose Driven Life

Never hold grudges because bitterness and resentment always destroy fellowship. Because we're imperfect, sinful people,we inevitably hurt each other when we're together for a long enough time. sometimes we hurt each other intentionally and sometimes unintentionally, but either way,it takes massive amounts of mercy and grace to create and maintain fellowship.Remember, you will never be asked to forgive someone else more than God has already forgiven you. Whenever you are hurt by someone, you have a choice to make:Will I use my energy and emotions for retaliation or resolution? You can't do both. Many people are reluctant to show mercy because they don't know the difference between trust and forgiveness.Forgiveness is letting go of the past.Trust has to do with future behavior.Forgiveness must be immediate, whether or not a person asks for it. Trust must be rebuilt over time. Trust requires a track record. If someone hurts you repeatedly, you are commanded by God to forgive them instantly, but you are not expected to trust them immediately, and you are not expected to continue allowing them to hurt you.

Excerpt from A Purpose Driven Life

NEVER GIVE UP

No matter what is going on
NEVER GIVE UP
Develop the heart
too much energy in your country
is spent developing the mind
Develop the heart
Be compassionate
not just to your friends
but to everyone
Be compassionate
Work for peace
and I say again
NEVER GIVE UP
No Matter what is happening
No Matter what is going on around you
NEVER GIVE UP.

It's All About Character

Watch your thoughts
they become words
Watch your words
they become actions
Watch your actions
they become habits
Watch your habits
they become character
Watch your character
it becomes your destiny
